The ‘King’ Fisher
A new bird on offer and one with much history to its design. This bird is, in many respects, a hark back to the first pieces of metal that I ever welded together.
That random fistful of spoons raised from the plastic bucket at a car boot sale … the shape they fatefully formed in my hand and the journey of creative discovery that exploded from that moment.
Both a revisit and evolution of my original idea, they are made quite appropriately using a design known as ‘Kings Pattern’.
I find the birds I make to be very tactile and so I have also reworked the design of the foot to allow the bird to slide off its perch. I think they are ‘meant’ to be held as well as displayed.
This is a wall mounted item, designed to hang from a single screw / nail.
